Big News: Lacey Jo Hits the Jackpot!

We are absolutely bursting with pride to share some incredible news from the field. Our very own Kendra’s Helen (known to us as Lacey Jo) has officially earned a Prize 1 in her Natural Ability test through the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA)!

Accomplishing this at just 14 months old is no small feat. It’s a testament to her breeding, her drive, and that “never-quit” attitude. The highlights of her performance included:

  • Superb Nose Work: She tracked and located with a level of focus that stopped the judges in their tracks. Her ability to process scent and stay on task was simply masterclass.
  • A Natural in the Water: When it came time to get wet, Lacey Jo didn’t hesitate. She showed off strong, confident swimming and a bold entry that proved she’s just as comfortable in the lake as she is on dry land.
  • Point & Drive: Her intensity on point and her desire to find game showed exactly why she’s a Prize 1 dog

Lacey Jo didn’t just pass; she excelled. At 14 months, she is showing the maturity and skill of a much older bird dog. While we are going to take a moment to celebrate with some extra treats and belly rubs, this is only the beginning for Lacey Jo. This Prize 1 foundation sets the stage for a lifetime of incredible hunts and future utility testing.

We are so proud of you, Lacey Jo! Thanks to Rich Kerlin who supported her training journey. Stay tuned—this girl is just getting started.

Way to go, Helen
