Kendra’s Sadie Scores a Prize I NAVHDA Finish!

The spring test season is officially here, and we are absolutely over the moon to share some monumental news from our Breeding family. Kendra’s Sadie (Willow), one of our beloved Ayla’s spectacular pups, just knocked her NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) test completely out of the park, earning a coveted Prize I!

To say we are proud would be a massive understatement. Watching the next generation carry on a legacy of excellence is the ultimate reward, and Willow did it with absolute style.

A Prize I is the highest classification a dog can achieve in their test level. It doesn’t just mean the dog passed; it means they demonstrated exceptional natural ability, high scores across every single category, and a flawless standard of work. Willow was evaluated on a rigorous set of criteria, and she stepped up to the plate beautifully:

  • Incredible Nose & Search: She covered the ground with intense purpose, tracking and locating game with the sharp, innate drive we always knew she had.
  • Stanch Pointing: When she found her birds, she locked up like a statue—showing incredible intensity and manners on game.
  • Water Love & Tracking: Her desire and willingness to work through the water and track live game showed the true versatility that NAVHDA demands.

Like Mother, Like Daughter: Ayla’s Legacy – Seeing Willow achieve this milestone is extra emotional for us because she is Ayla’s pup. Every breeder dreams of seeing their female pass on her best traits—her drive, her intelligence, her biddability, and her wonderful temperament.
